The Village of Angelica has been undergoing a major renovation of the water system. Over the last few years a new spring house has been constructed with new pumps and related systems. This facility now has electric generator backup system and Village electric supply. A new transmission line has been installed from the springs to the Village Mains. A new cover system has been installed over the reservoir as well as fixing leaks that had developed in the reservoir over the last fifty some years. All in all the system is safer and more efficient than it has ever been. The thing that has been a major challenge for the residents is the move from a very simple and cheap flat fee system to a metered system wherein everyone is charged based on how much water they use each month. In general we have found that the residents are quite frugal in their water consumption and are way below the national average in gallons per person used. This has challenged the Village to cover the costs associated with the upgrades to the water system. Fees will be reviewed on an annual basis to assure that an adequate fund is maintained to cover all the associated costs with operating, maintaining and paying for the water system.

James Brownell is the chief water operator for the Village. He is in charge of making sure the system is operating correctly as well as checking water meters each month.
