"MAIN STREET in MAY" features live music, a doll & teddy bear show, a perennial plant exchange and "Pocket Full o' Posies" bouquets for Moms Angelica, NY - - -

Celebrate springtime and Mother's Day in Angelica, NY on Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Visitors will enjoy a doll and teddy bear show, artisan demonstrations, a perennial plant exchange, live music, special sales, and so much more. This annual event is sponsored by the Angelica Merchant's Association (AMA).

NEW THIS YEAR: Treat mom to a beautiful live bouquet - a "Pocket Full o' Posies". Pick up a "Posie Packet" at the AMA Booth. During the day, they visit six participating businesses to get your packet stamped and to receive offers of special sales, discounts or free gifts at these six locations. As you leave Angelica for the day, redeem your completed packet for a lush and colorful bouquet of fresh spring flowers wrapped in a beautiful, reusable handmade paper vase. Both Days:

Main Street merchants will spill out onto the street and offer special springtime sales on such items as vintage jewelry, homemade ice cream, antiques, furnishings, and collectables of all kinds.

The Main Center, a new art gallery and pottery studio at 71 W. Main St., celebrates all weekend long with a Grand Opening "Open House." See pottery-making demos, meet the artists, and enjoy the talent of local artists and artisans between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served; handmade pottery door prizes.

The Angelica Sweet Shop will once again host an all-day Live Music Tent featuring performances by Angelica's own Andrew Weigman; Kier D. and "Double D"; Bob and Gena Decker; and Random Socks. The Wellsville Area Vocal Ensemble, the Belfast Select Choir and Belfast Jazz Band will also perform, and last minute preparations are in the works for even more local music. Stay tuned!

Bring extra flowers from your garden to the Perennial Plant Exchange & Sale at the Angelica Sweet Shop, 44 W. Main St. Each potted bulb, rhizome, cutting, or root you bring entitles you to take something different home.

A wind chime-making demonstration by local glass artist Dee Ward will take place at the Angelica Country Store, 50 W. Main St. Watch the process of making custom wind chimes with a variety of materials. Demos run from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Hill Warner Post 414 of the American Legion will have a tent at its post at 16 W. Main St from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Help support the American Legion's service projects, such as scholarships, packages to soldiers, and contributions to several regional service organizations.

Learn more about other community organizations at the Community Service Booth. Representatives will distribute literature and discuss their programs and services. The AMA will distribute "Pocket Full o' Posies" bouquets, walking tour brochures, and popcorn and cold drinks.

On Saturday:

Country Homespun at 19 W. Main will host a Doll and Teddy Bear Show. Between 12:00 - 4:00 p.m., members of the Southwestern New York-Pennsylvania Doll Club will show dolls and teddy bears in keeping with the Mothers Day theme including mothers and children, grandmas, sisters, etc. Enter a free drawing to win a bear, and purchase chances on a reproduction porcelain doll.

Enjoy a "Victorian Tea at the Inn" sponsored by Project Lavender. This networking and fundraising event takes place from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Angelica Inn B&B at 64 W. Main St. Call 585-403-1456 for details.

For kids, Gleason Hill Farms of Belfast will present Face Painting and a Springtime Petting Zoo in front of the Community Bank at 32 W. Main St. from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
