CODE and LAW ENFORCEMENT

Code enforcement is provided on a number of different issues. Dog Control, Building Codes and other laws.

The Village has a Dog Control Officer who provides response to complaints of dogs running at large, attacks, etc.

The building codes officer is a shared officer with a number of other communities. Building Codes officer can be contacted at 585-437-2206. People wishing to construct new structures should contact Clair Beeman prior to construction for the appropriate permits. If you are considering any new construction or renovations you should contact the Code Enforcement Officer prior to starting your project. New Construction projects should also be aware that there are NEW New York State Stormwater laws regarding all projects that disturb more than 1 acre during the life of the project. Contact NYS DEC in Buffalo or check out their website for more information on this new law if you are considering a project of that scale.

Other code enforcement issues are generally overseen by the Village of Angelica Police Department.

Issues of domestic disturbance, emergency response and other law enforcement will be handled by a combination of the Village of Angelica Police, Allegany County Sheriff and New York State Troopers based in the adjacent Town of Amity. Call 9 1 1 for any true emergency and your needs will bea addressed by the relevant agencies.
