Angelica's Main Street is host to a variety of shops offering Antiques, Crafts, Restaurants and other retail shops. Although most store fronts are in use there are generally opportunities available for new businesses to take over one of the few available shops. Ideas for shops that might augment the existing shops include a new and/or used book store, music/video/technology related store, and coffee cafe'. There is presently a storefront on Main Street available and the former Sunoco station is not in use as well as a few storefronts on Main Street are available for lease. Contact needs to be made directly with the owner of the building. Additional sites may be available on West Avenue. It is recommended that you utilize a licensed Realtor and Lawyer in your transactions.
During the Summer of 2002 the Village of Angelica worked to become a member of the Friendship Empire Zone. The Tax incentives afforded to businesses located in an Empire Zone are numerous and will help local merchants and businesses sustain and grow their businesses. Unfortunately New York State decided to discourage small businesses in business districts such as Angelica and rewrote the regulations in 2004/2005. At this time many of the sites were removed from the Empire Zone. If your business will bring 50 jobs to our community then we can still get you involved with the benefits of being part of the Friendship Empire Zone right here in Angelica.
